Indoor Garden DIYs
by Paul Lowe, Sweet Paul

Not all of us are lucky enough to have a big garden - or even a small garden, for that matter - to grow all our veggies and flowers. However, with a little dirt and these handy ideas from Sweet Paul + Mrs. Meyer's Magazine: The Perfectly Imperfect Issue, you can have them no matter what size your space.

Instructions For Drying Herbs
SUPPLIES
- Herbs
- Rubber bands
- Jar with a lid
- Hook, nail or push pin
HOW TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
- Make small bundles of herbs and secure them with a rubber band. Make sure not to use string (the stems will shrink as they dry and you don't want your bundles falling apart).
- Hang the herbs in an airy space to dry for about a week.
- Once they’re nice and dry, store them in a jar and tightly close the lid.

Instructions For WINE CRATE GARDEN
SUPPLIES
- Plastic trash bags
- Wooden crate
- Pebbles
- Soil
- Plants
- Moss
HOW TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
- Cover the inside of the box with two layers of plastic bags. Then, trim the plastic bags down to size.
- Fill the bottom of the crate with 2 to 3 inches of pebbles.
- Fill the rest of the crate up with soil.
- Plant your plants and herbs.
- Add moss to keep the soil moist.

Instructions For HERB TERRARIUM
SUPPLIES
- Glass bowl
- Pebbles
- Soil
- Plants
- Small figurines
HOW TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
- Take your bowl and fill it with a 2-inch layer of pebbles.
- Add in soil until it’s about 1/3 of the way up the bowl.
- Get planting.
- Add another thick layer of pebbles.
- Mix in small figurines for an extra bit of personality.

Instructions For HANGING HERB POTS
SUPPLIES
- Pots
- Metal wire
- Herbs
- Wire cutters
HOW TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
- Cut a long piece of wire and tie it around your pot. Make sure your pot has a rim on top. That way, the wire has a place to rest.
- Cut another piece of wire and secure it to one side of the pot. Then, make a simple hoop over the pot and secure that end of the wire to the other side of the pot.
- Fill the planter with your favorite plants and herbs and go on and hang it up.

Instructions For EGGSHELL PLANTERS
SUPPLIES
- Eggs
- Seeds
- Egg carton
- Soil
HOW TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
- Save up your empty, cracked eggs and place them back in their carton.
- Fill each egg with a bit of soil and add in your seeds.
- Place in a sunny area and wait for them to sprout.
- Once plants are big enough, plant them outside or transfer them to a larger planter.

Instructions For VEGETABLE CENTERPIECE
SUPPLIES
- Vegetables
- Herbs
- Vases and small containers
HOW TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
- Arrange vegetables on your table.
- Keep it interesting by adding in some height with vegetables like asparagus and rosemary. You can even put them in a vase or two if you're feeling fancy.
- Group smaller, colorful vegetables together to fill in any leftover negative space.
